Literature Text

My father is growing wings,
Flapping them in my consciousness.
Creating hurricanes,
Where peace should reside.
Laying waste to a landscape,
So beautiful and pure.
These are no wings of an angel,
Or they might be because he is a thief.
He stole a piece of me that was never his.
His own gain is all he ever thinks about.
You're gonna be my NBA star.
Do I have a choice?  No.
Because he's so inconsiderate that he stamps us,
And mails us to our one true home.
I pass by our relationship and throw it a quarter.
Because to me,
He jumped off a bridge with no bunjee cord...
The second he said Goodbye.
Borrowed the first line from Kim Addonizio's book 'Ordinary Genius' and just started from that
